St. Joseph’s stands as a witness to the enduring faith of Southern Maryland.
Located in historic Morganza, our parish has long served as a spiritual home for generations of Catholic families—rooted in the sacraments, tradition, and family.
The church is named in honor of St. Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family, whose quiet strength and faithfulness inspire us to live lives of holiness and service.
Today, under the leadership of Fr. Drew, our parish continues to thrive as a place of Catholic formation. With the Holy Eucharist at the center, we seek to follow the words of Christ:
| “Do not be afraid.”
Meet Fr. Drew
I was inspired to become a priest by the example of Pope Saint John Paul II. I studied theatre arts at Providence College in Rhode Island. As an actor in college I performed in several main stage productions including my favorite role, Sir Thomas More in Robert Bolt's "A Man For All Seasons."
I spent five years at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg studying systematic theology and preparing for the priesthood with men from all around the country.
I was ordained a Catholic Priest for the service of the Church in the Washington area in 2006. Since then I've served parishes in Bowie and Rockville, and the District of Columbia. I currently have the joy of serving as the pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morganza, Maryland. I'm a sports fan, a music-lover, and I enjoy meeting people.
I'm faithful to my bishop. I support my brother priests. I love saving souls. Perhaps my favorite thing Jesus tells his followers: "Do not be afraid!"
